 Mathematics will attract those it can attract, but it will do nothing to overcome resistance to science. Science is universal in principle but in practice it speaks to very few. Mathematics may be considered a communication skill of the highest type, frictionless so to speak; and at the opposite pole from mathematics, the fruits of science show the practical benefits of science without the use of words. 앞에 과학이 나왔는데, 과학의 속성을 이야기해주네요.

글의 흐름이 과학으로 변함.

이분법이네요. 원리상 보편적 VS 실상은 말을 누군가에게 하지 않는다. 

독해력이 뛰어난 분들은 음, 말을 하지 않는다. 이 표현이 보편적이지 않다는 것인가? 라는 생각을 하겠죠?

다시, 수학으로 글이 흘러감.

수학이 뭐래요? 가장 높은 타입의 의사소통기술, 

이분법 VS

수학의 정반대 극점에서 과학의 결실이 실용적인 이익들을 드러내고 있는데, 이때 말하지 않는데요. 

즉, 과학은 의사소통 측면에서는 좋지 않다는 것이죠.

과학의 결실들은 양가적이다, 양면적이다, 뭐 애매모호하다 라고 해석하셔도 무방해요. 즉, 명료하지 않다. 

그리고 과학을 다시 설명하죠? 과학은 과학으로써 말하지 않는다. 그리고 이상적으로는 모든 과학적 개념이 최상의 의사소통 기술인 수학화가 되야 한다고. 그리고 과학은 salesmanship에 기댈 필요도 없고, 기댈 수도 없다네요.

근데, 과학의 결실은 양면적이고, 수학은 과학으로 가는 저항을 극복해주지 않고, 참 문제네요.
